Several features were exposed during pipline excavation in 2003 to the west of Wyke Lane. One shallow pit 0.3m deep contained fragments of coal & was regarded as a post medieval or modern feature. Another pit to the southwest was 1m wide x 0.2m deep & contained a fragment of, probably residual, Roman tile. This pit cut into a possible linear feature aligned northwest to southeast & 0.12m deep which produced fragments of Roman pottery & roof tiles.
