Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 85-86+ Fig 38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Timber summerhouse which may have been built in the 19C as a stopping point for the Duke & Duchess of Bedford on the scenic 'Dukes Drive' along the Tamar. The building is in the grounds of Weir Cottage & may have been built by owners in 1906. The survey found a timber building of rough bark 5m long x 3m high set on a stone plinth with an octagonal brick chimney & two small windows. Other details: Site 98.
