Full description
Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 236-7, Figs 35 & 38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.
The 1867 & 1884 maps show the route of the flat rod cutting from Plunger water wheel at SX43307288 (see PRN 56091) to Plunger Shaft at SX43297311 (see PRN 3883) at Wheal Thomas/Watson mine. The piped route from the shaft to Wheal Josiah at SX43217354 (see PRN 3874) is only shown on the 1857 lease map. The survey in 2002 found little evidence of the flat rod cutting & no evidence of the pipe. Other details: Sites 385 & 385/1.
