To the north-east of the bridge (Monument 73893) a short section of the watercourse is shown on the Tithe Map as a dashed line, perhaps indicating a ford. The Ordnance Survey map of 1889 shows a projection on the road at this point, through which the watercourse appears to flow. This feature was still shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1932.
