(04/08/1979) Grass. The field boundary on the east has been removed recently by the owner. Just outside on the common is a low bank running visibly for some 30 to 40 yards. There are also some humps in the ground here, suggestive of workings. In the field below, where a spring rises, channels have been made, and the patch of ground known as chittleford works is only a little further down the hillside.
