Full description
Department of National Heritage, 19/04/1993, Bideford, 153 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV338459.
House. Early or mid 19th century in date with a later addition at the rear. Solid rendered walls. Slate roof. Rendered chimney on each gable. Two storeys with basement; garret in rear addition. Symmetrical 3-window range with a round-arched central doorway. Latter has raised cement surround; door with 8 panels, the lower 4 in form of a St Andrew's Cross; large fanlight with very thin radial bars. Windows have 8-paned sashes; raised cement surround, the lintel projecting slightly at each end. Eaves cornice with paired brackets. Interior not inspected.

1974 proposal for conversion of stores and living accommodation. Photograph shows the building with an external staircase leading to a first floor doorway in the position of the present-day central window. The footprint of this staircase is preserved by the surviving stub boundary wall.
