Quarry encroaching on eastern terminal of prehistoric ramparts. Unrecorded apart from appearance on Ordnance Survey maps, and probably made in last couple of centuries. Appears to be in use, and shown in photograph, in 1895. Probaly used for supplying stone for the town's expansion as it became a popular seaside resort in the second half of the 19th century.
