Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

'Stone' marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, comprising ranges of buildings around a roughly rectangular yard with additional buildings to the south-east and orchard to the north.

Stone was probably the home of Henry atte Stone, who is referred to in 1333. It is recorded as Lyftenstone in 1426.
