Horseyeat is 'Horsyet' in 1378 Court Rolls, meaning 'Horse-gate'.

Farmstead included in survey. Visited on 19/10/2003. Farmhouse is probably 16th century in origin; the remaining four buildings recorded range between 18th and 19th century date.
