Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1855-1895, First Edition 1:500 Town Map (Cartographic). SDV338879.

Leat shown running from weir north-east of Rockpark House, close to river at western end near Vigo Bridge.

Exeter Archaeology, 1997, Archaeological Assessment of the Development of the Dockrell Yachts Site, Parkwood Road, Tavistock, 4 (Report - Assessment). SDV344557.

A map of the town made in 1867 shows a leat running close to the river for the first time. This was presumably constructed to serve a bark mill on the adjoining property, which was said to have been powered by one of the waterwheels on the site. The original leat is no longer shown.
