This single-storey building has not been located on any map earlier than 1888, when it was mapped with furnaces at its north and south ends. It may have been the foundry established by Simpson and Denison in 1883, when they transferred their marine engine and yacht-building business here. Its width appears to have been reduced by 1904 although it survived into the post-war period. Map object based on this Source.
