Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2000, Archaeological Assessment and Watching Brief of SWW Moorhead to Cornborough Water Main, North Devon, 6-7 (Report - Assessment). SDV344592.
On the north side of the trench containing possible wall footings lay a large pit-like feature, which appeared contiguous with it. This pit measured over 1 metre in witdth and extended to the base of the 1.4 metres deep pipe trench. It contained loose rubble stone and sherds of pottery of a type produced from between the 15th century to the late 1900s. Other details: Figure 6. Map object based on this Source.
