Full description
Buck, C., 2006, Gawton Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 29 (Report - Assessment). SDV344672.
On the south-west side of Whim Shaft are the remnants of a flat rod channel or perhaps an infilled angel bob pit. The earthwork channel is 0.9 metres wide and approximately 9 metres long. A small excavation would quickly confirm its function. Other details: Figure 35, site 13.2.

An earthwork on the south side of the Whim Shaft (Site No. 13) was thought to be the remains of a flat rod channel, or possibly an infilled Angle Bob Pit at SX 45686 69140. It measured approximately 0.9 metres wide by 9 metres long. Other details: Site No. 13.2.
