Full description
Buck, C., 2006, Gawton Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 29 (Report - Assessment). SDV344672.
On the south-west side of Whim Shaft are the remnants of a flat rod channel or perhaps an infilled angel bob pit. The earthwork channel is 0.9 metres wide and approximately 9 metres long. A small excavation would quickly confirm its function. Other details: Figure 35, site 13.2.
