Full description

Spoil heaps shown, with track cutting through centre from north to south.

Two spoil heaps to the west of the adit portal, extending for approximately westwards (downslope), retained by a near verical dry stone wall approximately 3 metres high in places , where an old mine track cuts across the spoil heap. The northern spoil heap appeared to contain the primary waste rock, which was trammed to an adjacent 'spalling' site, and thence to the spoil dumps. Other details: Figures 6, 35, site 18.3.

Two spoil heaps at SX 45524 69086 were recorded to the west of the Middle Adit portal (Site No. 18.2). These extended for approximately 10 metres westward, downslope, and were retained by a drystone wall up to 3 metres high in places. The Spoil Heaps were found to be in the same condition as that described in 2006. Other details: Site No. 18.3.
