There are a number of small quarries distributed across the mine, usually the result of needing stone for the erection of buildings. The largest of these quarries is 5 metres high at the back wall, with a sloping floor from track level, 15 metres long, and the floor is approximately 10 metres in depth. There are large mounds of earth and stone to the south, which have had deep gouges scoured in the sides and tops by 4 x 4 vehicles. Other details: Figure 36, site 26.

A number of small quarries are distributed in woodland around the Site. They were probably the result of using local stone to construct some mine buildings. In 2006, the back wall of the largest quarry was measured as 5 metres high, with the floor measuring 15 metres long by 10 metres deep. The Quarry was found to be in generally good condition. Quarrying activity is a common feature of mining sites, and there are several surviving examples at Gawton Mine. It is considered to have low significance. Vegetation clearance could be undertaken within and around the footprint of the quarry. Other details: Site No. 26.
