Building shown on late 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps, and marked 'Magazine'. It probably dates from the late 1860s, due to the mine's expansion from the Bedford Consols area to Gawton Quay, and the use of King's Shaft as the main working and winding site. When last seen in the 1990s, the only remains were a part of the south-east wall within a hedge. Other details: Figures 8, 36, site 70.

The Magazine is first illustrated on the 1884 Ordnance Survey map and later Ordnance Survey maps. It is thought to date from the late 1860s. Health and Safety reasons would have dictated that the building was located away from working areas of the mine. In 2006 the site was not visited, but based on communications with the landowner, it was thought that only parts of the south-eastern wall, previously identified within a hedge, may have survived. Given that the remains were possibly located close to a public access route, it was considered that their conservation may be appropriate.
The site was not surveyed or located as it was outside the Site boundary. Other details: Site No. 70.
