The Soldier's Well, a stone-lined spring, is located at the western end of the cross-ridge dyke to the north of Woodbury Castle hillfort. It is suggested that the fact that the dyke ends down the slope at the spring is more than coincidental. One of a number of springs and wells of sacred and symbolic significance on the Pebblebed heathlands. Other details: Figure 1.
