Francis, P., 1999, Exeter Airport. Historic Airport Survey for Devon County Council & East Devon District Council, 66 (Report - non-specific). SDV323390.
Outer Lorenz directional wireless beacon consiting of an aerial (two vertical rods) and, at a distance of 10 feet, a dummy aerial (reflector). Lorenz beacons emitted a series of signals which indicated to the pilot whether he was on the correct flight path. Outer and inner (at SY01309391) beacons were neccessary to assis in approaching the runway. This system was marketed in Britain as Standard Beam Approach.
