Full description

Best, J., 2007, Archaeological Evaluation of Proposed South West Water Sewage Treatment Works Near Clyst Honiton, Devon, 2-3, 5-6, 9 11-14 (Report - Evaluation). SDV345022.

Most of the linear features throughout the site appear to form part of the post-medieval field system. The ditches correspond with the general orientation of the field boundaries shown on the Pinhoe Tithe Map, but none of the major boundaries between plots seem to be represented. The ditches are on a slightly different alignment to the possible medieval field boundaries, and may reflect a partial reorganisation or rationalisation of the field system. Other details: Figures 2-8, 12-18.
