Full description

Francis, P., 1999, Exeter Airport. Historic Airport Survey for Devon County Council & East Devon District Council, 93 (Report - non-specific). SDV323390.

Transformer House. This small, pitched-roof building is not shown on the 1944 Air Ministry site plan, or on the 1947 Royal Air Force aerial photography. It is probably the main inlet sub-station or a battery charging facility for the Air Service Training Site, but its date of construction is unknown.
Permanent brick built (English Bond), with a single steel truss supporting corrugated asbestos sheeting. Inside are rusty remains of electrical fittings and trunking, while open conduit pits are located within the concrete floor which all point to an electrical function.
In poor condition. Other details: Site 107a; Map 9.

Ordnance Survey, 2010, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV344030.
