Just uphill from Marine Drive was the wardroom, formerly 'Pilot Waters', the private house built in1938 (in a 'vaguely Arts and Crafts' style) by the owners of the holiday camp, but never occupied by them. The house was demolished in 2003, but there is the remains of a short path to the building and an old garden path, running along the contour below the house site, which connects to a flight of concrete steps that links the HMS Cambridge firing site with the main site.
