Full description

Remains of plinth for flagpole, set on a north-west facing slope 25 metres north of Marine Drive. Set on a terrace about 3.5 metres wide north-west to south-east by 3 metres north-east to south-west. The area has a concrete block retaining wall on the north-east side, 0.6 metres high, and a concrete base overgrown with ivy. In the centre are the remains of a square iron plinth with 4 bolt-heads for fixing the flagpole. The terrace is approached by a short flight of steps which join the main path and steps leading from Marine Drive to the main site at the top of the hill.
