A circular gun mounting on the west side, and another at the east end with a low white wall around it was located on a terrace below buildings on the south side of Marine Drive. Road access was from the north-west, with a road leading down from the Heybrook end of Marine Drive. The terrace incorporated small support buildings such as the Decoy Launcher Grid, Control Room and Pyro magazine shown on a plan of 1996. Just in front and slightly below the redundant 1950s gun platform is the 3-inch rocket site. Landscaping has removed some of the distinction between different levels here. The terrace is about 40-50 metres long and approximately 9 metres wide, narrowing towards the eastern end where it loses definition on the slope.
