Two gun platforms on circular bases were located on the lowest terrace of the firing site below Marine Drive. This terrace is about 50 metres long and about 8-12 metres wide. It is down a steep slope from the Short Range Grid above, and there is another steep but shorter slope down to the Ministry of Defence boundary and coastal path to the front of the platform. The terrace has been heavily landscaped, especially at the eastern end, but it retains a circular outline at the western end that formed the base for the large gun emplacement. The former gun position at the eastern end, and slightly higher up, has been landscaped and lost. Other details: Figure 2; map; site inventory no. 031.
