The 30 metres firing range partly survives as a large, square, clear area facing south-east at the foot of the slope to the north-east of the Naval Military Training School. There was a large concrete wall at the rear or north-west end that was the butts, but has now been replaced by a post and rail fence. The area is approximately 33 metres north-west to south-east by 30 metres north-east to south-west. At the front there is an angled scarp, 1.5 metres high and 2-2.5 metres wide.
