Concrete block retaining wall at passing place 30 metres below the main gate. This was part of the entrance to HMS Cambridge which was designed as a single width entrance for security reasons, but a passing place was constructed just below the gate for vehicles exiting the base. The wall is concrete block construction, and about 1.2 metres high. At the north-east end it joins with a larger and higher concrete wall, topped by a steel rail fence and steps to the guard/sentry point overlooking the main gate. The latter is outside National Trust property. Other details: Map; site inventory no. 062.
