Summary
Milestone on the east side of the road. Inscribed as 8 miles from Torrington and 26 miles from Exeter. The stone was set up c.1835 when a new road towards Exeter was built by the Great Torrington Turnpike Trust.

Site visit 6th February 2012. Milestone located in the hedgebank of a drainage ditch on the east side of the A3124, 100m south of Dolton Beacon toll house. The legend reads '26/Miles/Exon' on the left hand side and '8/Miles/Torrington' on the right hand side.
The stone was set up c. 1835 when a new road to Exeter was built by the Great Torrington Turnpike Trust. It is now worn and dirty, partly buried and at risk from ongoing neglect and damage.
