'Woodhayes' marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, comprising farmhouse and farm buildings arranged around a broadly square yard.

The earliest reference to Woodhayes is as La Wode in 1359. A series of leases from 1638 to the mid 19th century indicate that the farm formed part of the estates of the Huyshe family. In 1820 the premises comprised 'a good farm-house and convenient out-buildings'. The farm is shown on the Tithe Map of 1841.
