An old shaft is marked on the 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map at Rixhill Mine.
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
The old shaft marked on the 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map is similarly shown on the 1904-1906 25 inch map. The 1904-1906 map also shows a shaft in an enclosure to the east of this and east again beyond the main site two further old shafts are also marked.
