Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

'The Rookery' marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map. A stream is shown running broadly east-west through the wood with a small square structure at its eastern end. A well is marked in the south-east corner.

Within the area known as The Rookery are many intriguing remains including underground pipes and odd remains in the stream bed that might have been rills or cascades.
