Full description

No 7 (New Gospel Hall), and Nos. 9 and 11, East Street.
Nos. 7 and 9 early 19th century, No. 11 probably 18th century. All three storey. Three dormers. Part stucco, lined, part hung slates, painted. Each house with two flush frame sash windows, at first and second floors, with glazing bars. Eaves brackets. Nos. 7 and 9 wide eaves soffit. Wood shop fronts. No. 11, 6-panel door.

Ashburton - East Street (north side) No.9 (Formerly Listed as East Street (north side) Nos.7, 9 and 11 New Gospel Hall (7)) - GV II

Rendered chimney on right side wall. Appears to be double-fronted, double-depth; rear wing to right, linking up with rear block which spans full width of plot. Three storeys with garret, two windows wide.
19th century shop front to left of ground storey; half-glazed door with flanking pilasters, entablature with bracketed cornice. Plain 20th century display window to right. Door with four flush panels to left, running under No 7; it opens on to a passage leading to rear courtyard. Upper storeys have 6-paned sashes in moulded flush frames. Deep bracketed eaves-cornice. Flat-topped dormer window to left (almost certainly a later addition); 2-light wood casement with three panes per light. Royal fire insurance plaque (no number) between second storey windows.
