Ashburton - East Street (south side) No.4 - GV II
House with shop. Mid 19th century. Solid rendered front. Slated roof. Late 19th century red-brick chimney on each gable end. Three storeys, two windows wide. Shop front, mid or late 19th century. Two display windows, each of three panes, canted in centre towards recessed double-glazed doors. To left, house door flanked by pilasters; 4-panelled door, the two lower panels flush, circular brass knocker. Across the whole ground storey and entablature with bracketed blocks at each end and above the doorway. Upper storey windows have continued sill-bands; flanking pilasters supporting flat triangular pediments with vermiculated centres. Raised quoins. Deep eaves-cornice with paired brackets.
