Summary

Small cairn east of Smallacombe Rocks, associated with several other features in the area. This site is included in the local list of Nationally Important Dartmoor sites. The cairn comprises a stony mound with a turf covered perimeter. The maximum diameter of the spread is 0.4m and the mound stands to a maximum height of 0.4m.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1960, SX77NE7 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV314735.

(03/05/1960) A small cairn at SX 7662 7813, its sides overgrown with grass and heather. It is 0.4 metres high.

(05/10/1975). Cairn with hollow centre, 9.0 meters in diameter, height 0.3 meters.

A low flat-topped mound, maximum 12.2 meters in diameter, with a second layer of small stones lying on the surface towards one edge of the mound. A depression here indicates it may have been dug into. Other details: Map 2, 6.
