A curvilinear bank, aligned approximately east to west and roughly 3 metres in width is visible an an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1946. Although clearly visible at the east and west ends of the field, it is obscured in the centre by a darker area, possibly of wetter ground. It is overlain by modern narrow ridge and furrow and is not depicted on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping, suggesting that it pre-dates the late nineteenth century. The earthwork is contiguous with a field boundary to the east which is part of a field pattern of probable medieval date and therefore it is also likely to have a medieval origin. It is not seen on later aerial photographs available to the survey, although these are limited in number, and it is possible that the earthwork has been levelled.
