Rosedown is first recorded as Rosdone in 1299. It had 1 one tenant in 1301 and in 1566. The 1886 Ordnance Survey map shows buildings to the north and south of the road. The modern map shows one building north of road with the name, and Rosedown Cott. to the south of the road. Other buildings are now separate dwellings.
