The farmhouse was assessed for dendrochronological analysis but not sampled.

Lumpers. Cottage. Early-mid C17, extension of circa 1970. Plastered local stone and flint rubble, maybe with some cob; cob and stone rubble stacks with plastered brick chimneyshafts; thatch roof. Plan: L-plan house. The main block faces east. It has a 2-room plan with gable- end stacks. This is the C17 cottage. Circa 1970 a 3-room plan extension was built onto the right (north) end projecting to rear. The C17 cottage is 2 storeys the extension is single storey. Exterior: irregular front fenestration to the main block, 3 windows to the ground floor and 2 to the first floor; all are C19 flat-faced mullion casements of various sizes containing rectangular panes of leaded glass. The roof is half-hipped to right and gable-ended to left. There is a front porch to right (into the end of the extension) and another in the left end; both have thatched roofs and contain C20 doors. Interior: the right room of the main house shows only C20 detail. The left room however has a C17 chamfered crossbeam and the large fireplace has a chamfered oak front frame and includes a rear oven. The 3-bay roof is carried on 2 original side- pegged jointed cruck trusses. The roofspace is not accessible. Lumpers is one of a group of attractive listed buildings which make up the hamlet of Farway.
