The names upon the main parish war memorial are in the order of death, and are therefore suggestive of the compilation of lists/rolls during the First World War.

Nowy-headed bronze plaque mounted onto a marble backboard. Inscription in relief. Foliate and floral border depicted in relief on the plaque with crown surmounting the top centre of the border. Wreath with St George killing the dragon within it is depicted at the top centre of the plaque. Two flags are depicted in the top left and right hand corners of the plaque.
Inscription: IN GRATEFUL MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF/ DARTINGTON WHO IN/ THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918/ GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR BRITAIN AND HONOUR/ (NAMES)/ "SEMPER FIDELIS"
