Laithwaite, J. M. W., 1986, Devon Religious Houses Survey: House of the Warland, Totnes (Report - Survey). SDV337551.

There is no evidence at present to suggest that either No. 8 or No. 9 Warland date from before 1509. They were built as a pair, or possibly as one large house. No. 9 has a chamfered ceiling beam of 16th or 17th century date.

Early 19th century (after 1801). Two pairs of cottages. 2 storeys. 1 window each. Welsh slate roofs with old rendered stacks. Numbers 6-8, rendered fronts; Number 9, limewashed random limestone rubble. Recessed sash windows, most with glazing bars; Number 9 with ground floor shutters. Recessed doorways with modern doors; Numbers 8 and 9 with hoods.
