Summary

Originally a threshing barn; this has been converted by the modern day owners. May date to the late 17th century, as the mill building. Altered in the late 19th century to include a round house / horse engine house on the western side, indicating the use of animal power at the mill.

'Gidley Mill' depicted on the Tithe Map; barn shown at the south-eastern side of the property. A rectangular building, aligned north-south.

Barn is depicted on the late 19th century historic map with a round house connected to the western side, indicating animal power was used for the mill (possibly once the mill had been converted into a farmhouse).
