Ladywell, lidwell or ladewell. Near the upper town in brixham is a curious spring usually ebbing and flowing about ten times an hour, with occassional interuptions of half an hour. One of a pair, it has the property of curing fevers. Respondent to dean milles questionnaire noted the presence of a holy well called ladywell or laywell.
