Nos.50, 51 AND 52 The Rock, including terrace and garden walls. 3 houses, possibly originally one. c1810. Roughcast; slate roof, hipped to Nos 50 & 53; stacks with brick shafts and old pots. U-plan; main range with projecting front wings to left and right; these may always have been separate units, as now, or may have been wings to a single house. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 1:3:1-window range. Eaves board. No.51 has central round-headed doorway with fielded-panelled reveals and fielded-panelled door with fanlight with applied pattern. 2 ground- and 3 first-floor 16-pane horned sashes. Wings each have one first-floor 16-pane horned sash and a tall round-headed recess on the ground floor containing C20 front doors with glazed side panels. Interior: No.51 has a half-glazed C19 rear door, original joinery and a stick baluster stair rising from and parallel to the entrance passage. Subsidiary features: the houses are raised high above the street with a stone terrace wall which includes a cellar door at street level and cellar below the terrace with steps up to the area in front of No.51. Stone rubble garden walls with bullnose brick coping.
