Full description

Cresswell, B. F., 1915, Churchyard and Wayside Crosses in the Neighbourhood of Exeter, 189 (Article in Serial). SDV336961.

Type B cross in the churchyard, south of the church, built into the coping of the front wall. A headless shaft, square at the base, with weathered spurs, above which it becomes octagonal and tapers upwards.

Holcombe Burnell Churchyard SX859916
A headless cross shaft stands in the churchyard south of the church, built into the coping of a low wall. The shaft is square at the base, with weathered spurs above where it becomes octagonal and tapers upwards. The low wall, into which the base of the shaft is built, is the original churchyard wall, lowered when the churchyard was extended southwards.
Shaft height 1.04 metres, base 0.27 metres.
