Cross shaft on the lawn of the western forecourt. Set in a two-part socket stone. The shaft, which tapers slightly, is square at the base chamfered into an octagon above with bold convex mouldings running its length at each edge. The shaft, which formerly had a sundial, is reputed to have been a boundary cross of Cockington Manor.
This may be the same cross as that recorded in 1954 at standing in the north-west corner of the western forecourt.
Cross shaft: 50 inches high. Base 14.5 inches by 14 inches, top 11.5 inches by 10.5 inches.
