Alcock, N. W. + Laithwaite, M., Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV288516.

Principal medieval features: part of the roof over the wall. A unique example in devon of a louvre, of a form which could be called a smoke tunnel. In the early 16th century, a floor was inserted over the cross passage and lower third of the hall. The remainder of the house was floored in the late 16th and early 17th century.(os). Fireplaces and chimneys were also added in 16th and 17th centuries. In 19th century a staircase and two doors were added. Detailed information in text.(alcock + laithwaite).

Clatworthy or clotworthy was included in south aller (alra) in domesday. Later it was carved out to form a separate estate. It is recorded as fluteworth in medieval documents. Early descents given (reichel). Rubble, plastered and thatched. Large lateral rubble stack. Xvii? (doe).
