6 and 6a Bridgeland Street. House with shops. 1694, remodelled early or mid 19th century. Solid rendered front. Slate roof. Rendered chimney on right gable-end. Two rooms wide with central entrance-passage; 1-room deep with 2 rear wings. Two storeys; 3-window range. Centre doorway has flanking pilasters and entablature; panelled reveals; 4-panelled door, the 2 upper panels glazed. Mid 20th century shop front to right, late 20th century one to left. Upper storeys have raised quoins; raised band, possibly 17th century, above the window-heads. Windows have moulded eaved architraves; 8-panel sashes. Bracketed eaves-cornice.
Interior: ground-floor front rooms have small moulded plaster cornices, probably late 18th century or early 19th century. Description of 1987 refers to early/mid 19th century stair at rear of passage; late 17th century moulded plaster cornice in first-floor left front room.
