Title:Devon Religious Houses Survey: Frithelstock Priory

Summary:The priory was founded in the 13th century and dedicated to St Gregory. It appears to have had a strong connection with Hartland Abbey throughout its life. It was dissolved in 1536 and the greater part of the estate was granted to Arthur Plantagenant. The surviving remains of the church are in fairly good condition. Substantial buried remains exist in the field to the east and south of the priory church. The farmhouse possibly has a medieval core.
