Title:The Bridges at Countess Wear, Exeter
Originator:Passmore, M.
Date:2019
Summary:This leaflet is one of a series offering a brief introduction to twentieth-century military and civil defence archaeological features and structures in Devon. The original swing bridge and road bridge at Countess Wear were used to train troops in May 1944 prior to D-Day as the layout of the canal, river and bridges here closely resembles that on the Orne River in France.
