Title:Cuddenhay, East Worlington
Originator:Cox, J. + Thorp, J. R. L.
Date:2020
Summary:Cuddenhay Farmhouse is an interesting house from an historic and archaeological point of view. As rebuilt in the mid 17th century, the farmhouse has an experimental layout which is noteworthy in such a relatively small vernacular farmhouse, coming from a time when houses were evolving from late medieval models into what can be called a modern house form. The parlour is a good example of its type featuring richly moulded ceiling beams. It stands in a yard of traditional farmbuildings with no intrusive 20th sheds. It has suffered a little from inappropriate modernisation but nothing that is irreversible.
