| Summary: | During the 1930s E.H. Willcock excavated a Neolithic site just north of the Haldon Belvedere. The service trenches made necessary by the 1990s renovation of this 18th century monument were observed, with some small scale excavation. Extensive use of the hilltop during the Early Neolithic was demonstrated, some data produced suggesting post-Neolithic use of the site, and information recorded about the Belvedere’s construction and associated landscaping. |
