| Summary: | The parish church has a unique dedication to St Hieritha, usually now spelt Urith. St Urith is a local saint, buried near the site of her martyrdom in about the 7th century. A spring arose where she died, now a well which was still used as a water supply in the 1880s. Now covered over with a headstone in the adjacent wall. |
